Frequently Asked Questions

Is the ReSure® Adherent Ocular Bandage visible on my eye?

Upon application, the ReSure material is blue in color to help the surgeon ensure accurate placement of the bandage over the incision. Shortly after application, the blue color dissipates from the hydrogel leaving a clear, transparent bandage over the incision.

Will the ReSure Bandage affect my vision?

Since most cataract incisions are on the periphery of the cornea and therefore outside of the visual axis, it should not distort your vision.

Is using the ReSure Bandage safe?

The ReSure Bandage is composed primarily of polyethylene glycol and approximately 90% water. Polyethylene glycol-based materials have undergone extensive biocompatibility and safety testing and enjoy broad market acceptance in medical products such as drugs, injectables, implants, and artificial tears for dry eyes.

How do I find out more about premium cataract surgeries and the ReSure Bandage?

Speak to your doctor about all questions and charges associated with your premium cataract surgery before you proceed, and talk to your healthcare provider and/or Medicare to determine what expenses you will have to pay out-of-pocket.

Are there any side effects associated with the ReSure Bandage?

In the US Pivotal Clinical Trial, no safety concerns were raised regarding use of the ReSure Bandage. Additionally, there were no concerns noted relative to collagen shields.
